When I outlined my proposed research methods for this project, I mentioned that I'm planning to use a survey to explore the extent to which findings from my initial interviews can be generalised to a wider sample of library and information practitioners, social enterprise practitioners and academics working in the field. I'm now just beginning to think about the kind of survey I will use for this part of my project. As part of this process, I presented a document comparing a range of online survey tools at an informal departmental discussion session yesterday. I have used both free and subscription versions of SurveyMonkey in the past, but I realise that I've never really evaluated a wider range of potential survey tools.
